About the Conference

Each year, the MCN Annual Conference convenes one of the largest gatherings of nonprofit professionals in the state.  The day-long event includes an engaging keynote session, a wide selection of workshops and expert roundtables, networking opportunities, and the presentation of our Lifetime Achievement Awards.

2026 Event

The 2026 Conference took place at the DCU Center in Worcester on October 21. The event’s theme, ‘Community & Connection’, provided valuable opportunities for nonprofits to learn, connect and be inspired in these uniquely challenging times.

Workshops & Roundtables

The MCN team received over 140 outstanding proposal submissions from a diverse group of experienced professionals. Click here to view the 2026 list of workshops, as well as expert roundtables, where presenters share their expertise in an interactive small-group format.  Topics ranged from leadership development to fundraising, DEI, operations, AI, and more.

Keynote Speaker

Congressman Jim McGovern

United States House of Representatives

Congressman McGovern was the featured speaker for the 2026 Conference, and sat down for a conversation with Tim Garvin of the United Way of Central Massachusetts. The Congressman shared insights and experiences from his career representing the Second District of Massachusetts in the United States House of Representatives, while also encouraging nonprofits to be courageous and engaged in advocating for the people and communities they serve.

Congressman McGovern is a champion for the people of his home state of Massachusetts, and a global leader working to end hunger, protect human rights, and promote peace. He has also been the top Democrat on the House Rules Committee since 2018, serving as Chairman during the 116th and 117th Congress.
