Our members receive advocacy updates on local, state, and federal issues affecting nonprofits statewide. They also get complimentary attendance to our Public Policy Forums, which bring nonprofits and government leaders together for candid conversations about issues impacting the sector.
We offer discounted member registration rates for our Annual Conference and Nonprofit Excellence Awards, as well as priority attendance to our affinity groups and lunch & learns.
We send three exclusive member newsletters each month, providing the latest sector news, policy updates, funding opportunities, and more. Our member portal contains a curated list of Massachusetts grants, our Funding Sources Directory, and a Commonwealth Stats Tool.

Affiliate members can also write posts for our Nonprofit 411 blog, host free webinars, and provide cost savings benefits to help our nonprofit members save money.
As part of our effort to mobilize and strengthen nonprofits in the face of federal threats, we launched two Federal Impacts Surveys in partnership with The Boston Foundation and the MassINC Polling Group. These surveys helped capture the impact of the current administration’s disruptive federal policy actions on nonprofits, and were completed by almost 1,000 nonprofit leaders.
Our members join a growing network of 700+ nonprofit and for-profit businesses across Massachusetts. They can make unlimited free posts to our jobs board and events calendar, placing their organization in front of these and other audiences across the state.

MCN’s membership dues are affordable and are well below those of similar trade organizations. Nonprofit membership dues operate on a sliding scale based on line 18 of your most recent 990 Form. Foundations that file Form 990-PF should use line 24, column (d). Foundations that file Form 990 should use line 18 minus line 13. Affiliate membership dues are based on the level of desired partnership with MCN, and start as low as $300 per year. The deliverables and level of partnership increase with each tier. Click here to learn more about affiliate membership and view the full list of dues and tiers here.
*Please note that membership dues are nonrefundable.
In order to renew your membership, you will need your Organization ID (15-20 digit alpha-numeric code). It can be found in your latest renewal email notification, or can be retrieved by emailing membership@macouncilofnonprofits.org.
Membership dues are calculated by the budget size of the whole organization. Exceptions are handled on a case-by-case basis. If you have questions about your department or organization, please contact membership@macouncilofnonprofits.org.
Yes, you may pay for your membership with a credit card through PayPal, or you may mail us a check. Payment is due within 30 days of registration or renewal.
No, membership with MCN is not tax-deductible.
The person who will serve as the main contact for your organization should be listed on the membership form. If other staff members at your organization would like to receive our bi-weekly newsletter and email updates, they can sign up for SectorNews by clicking here.
Before your membership is set to expire, you should receive an email from an MCN staff member which contains a link to the renewal form. If you have questions or believe you have not received this email, please email membership@macouncilofnonprofits.org.
